Where is "Yamagata" ?
Yamagata Prefecture is located in the Tōhoku region. It is well known for its agricultural products, especially cherries. The Mt. Zao ski resort area with its snow-covered trees, described as “Snow Monsters” (juhyo) is also a famous attraction of the prefecture. The capital city is also called Yamagata.
